Black Bears are excited to announce that we have brought on Athletic Therapist Gillian Gilmore as apart of Integrated Sports Team. Gillian will be a incredible asset for Black Bears to assist in rehabilitating athletes during the high levels of training they will be receiving. Please check her bio out:
Gillian started on her athletic therapy journey while working as a rugby student therapist during her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at UNB. Continuing to pursue this passion, she completed her Masters in Kinesiology concurrently with a diploma in Athletic Therapy at York University. Since that initial experience 12 years ago, she has been team therapist for a variety of sports including wrestling, basketball, swimming, volleyball, football, ice hockey, soccer, and rugby. Local event coverage has also given her the opportunity to add figure skating, speed skating, and field hockey to the list of sports coverage. She has been honoured to be the head therapist for Football NB, Saint John Storm Women's Football, KVHS, and work at major games – field coverage for women's field hockey at the Pan Am Games and therapist with the Canadian Men's Soccer Team as they participated in the World University Games. Beyond sports coverage, she works full time at KenVal Rehab & Sports Injury Center; with a special interest in concussions, she is part of the medical/rehab team with the Saint John Concussion Clinic. She is also the Assistant Athletic Therapist for the Saint John Sea Dogs.
Gillian is excited to be partnering with Blackbears Softball and looks forward to working with these high level female athletes pursuing their athletic dreams."
